Automotive Body, Paint and Assembly Technicians

Job Description:

Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. is seeking to hire full-time technicians to work in both our Body/Paint and Assembly/Service departments. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience along with a love of classic automobiles.

MCR is a high-end restoration shop performing full custom restorations and service work on a wide range of classic American muscle cars from Chargers and Cudas, Camaros, and Mustangs just to name a few. Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. (MCR) has been in the business of restoring high-end vehicles for over 30 years. Our restorations have won top honors at car shows across the country and have appeared on the covers of many popular magazines including Hot Rod, Car Craft, Mopar Muscle, and many others. We are one of the largest and most respected restoration companies in the United States.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Body & Paint Technician position will require vehicle disassembly, minor metal work, full vehicle body, paint, and clear coat, cut & buff, and partial vehicle assembly as required.

The Assembly/Service Technician position will require performing complete vehicle assembly, performance upgrades, diagnostic and repair, service, performance testing, final inspection and record keeping. Additional duties to include rebuilding of major automotive and driveline components including engine upgrades, carburetor & fuel injections systems, manual transmissions, driveshafts, differentials, hub assemblies, HVAC, etc. Performance of vehicle test driving and tuning on both the street (requiring a clean driving record) and on in-house chassis dynamometer.

Required skills and Knowledge:

Body & Paint Technician:

Full vehicle body and paint restoration experience, required.
Auto body fabrication, highly desirable.
PPG paint products knowledge, highly desired.
Preferred 5+ years of experience in automotive restoration, service, repair, or collision industry. ASE certification or other professional degree or training a plus.
Extensive knowledge of automotive bodywork and trim assembly along with basic upholstery skills a plus.

Assembly/Service Technician:

Extensive hands-on knowledge and experience assembling and servicing classic automotive vehicles including powertrain/driveline, bodywork/frame, suspension, steering, brakes, trim, interior/upholstery, and all related automotive electrical and fluid systems.
Powertrain experience to include all engine and related accessories including valvetrain, fuel delivery (both carbureted and fuel injection systems), ignition, coolant, lubrication, and related electrical systems.
Driveline experience to include both automatic and manual transmissions, drive shafts, differentials, hub, wheels, and all related suspension.
Experience with tuning aftermarket fuel injections and ignition timing systems a plus (Holley, Fast, MSD).
General knowledge of automotive electrical wiring, plumbing, and limited fabrication.

General Skills and Knowledge Required:

Good basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, Explore, Word, Excel, etc.
Positive attitude, excellent organization skills, problem solving and efficiency of repair process.
Must show self-initiative and attention to detail.

Education, Qualifications, Requirements:

Education: 1–2-year Automotive Technical Degree or related preferred. High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required.
Driver license: Class D – Non-commercial driver license required with a clean driving record required.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. continuously.
Employee to supply a complete set of automotive hand tools.

Compensation/Benefits:

Duration/Hours: Full-Time Position, 40 Hours/week minimum. Four-and-a-half-day work week. Overtime opportunities available.
